2020 summer interns

Nadia Ford

School: Duke University class of 2019

Hometown: Del Rio, Texas

Major: Psychology

Internship: Stocks Elementary

My summer at Stocks Elementary was like no other. I was able to assist with key programming and virtual integration as the school prepared for a new school year during the continued pandemic. Serving with Stocks allowed me to witness firsthand what some school administrators were doing in order to keep safety and morale high for their staff and the wider community during trying times.

Internship: Michael’s Angels Re-Entry Program

During a summer filled with many unknowns, my internship at Michael's Angels Reentry Services was a space filled with reflection, creativity, and hope. Even in a virtual setting, I learned to love the city of Tarboro and its residents.

A note for prospective applicants: This cohort of interns were completely virtual due to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. You may also notice that most of our past interns are from either UNC-CH or Duke. This is because ENCIP is a young organization that started by partnering with campus programs well-known by the board, and Duke and UNC happened to be the two universities best known by the board at that time. Now that we are more established, we are actively recruiting students from any college or university.
