If you're reading these quotes, you're probably getting tired of reading that summer experiences through ENCIP are "life changing" and "like no other." While I'd love to add something new and jazzy—life altering and undeniably special are the best ways to describe ENCIP summer experiences. While I came to Tarboro to teach children about community building, the people of Tarboro taught me more about what it means to belong to a community than I ever thought possible. Every moment I spent in Tarboro shaped me into a better leader and a better human.

This summer really changed my view of the world. Living in Tarboro completely redefined my views of the world, the lessons I have learned from the time that I have spent there will forever have an impact in the way I live my life.

Internship: Rural Opportunity Institute
Working with the Rural Opportunity Institute allowed me to see solidarity between my hometown and Tarboro in both the struggles that they face and the assets they hold. Moving forward, I feel like my personal philosophy of service has been irrevocably changed for the better, and I am confident that I will enter a life of service.

Through ENCIP I was able to experience what it was like to live in rural North Carolina. I've lived in NC my entire life, but never interacted with rural neighboring towns. If it weren't for ENCIP, I don't think I would have ever experienced the sense of being part of a tight-knit, rural community.
